The Experience

So you love to write…and you'd like to write with others who love to write, too?

That's what Writers @ Harriman is about!

Writers @ Harriman is a week-long workshop for high school students. And much more! It is held Sunday, July 29, through Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Idaho's spectacular outdoor classroom, Harriman State Park between Ashton and Island Park. Applications are due June 15, 2012. Apply now!

If you want the direction of experienced professional teaching writers, Writers @ Harriman is it. It's intense. You'll write a lot. Maybe four, five, or more hours every day. Your peers will be other high school students. And they also like to write. You will work in small groups of about ten students and explore many, many characteristics of imaginative writing. You will also have one-on-one time with your instructors.

Although the emphasis is on writing, students have time for hiking and music, swimming and horseback riding. You'll live in the dormitory and eat in the dining hall.

When you leave, you'll feel as if you've just begun to write.

Thank you to our sponsors. Your support is the reason we have Writers @ Harriman!
